Another Exhibited Work - Art and About 2015

It has been a while since I last posted. It has been a busy last couple of months of volunteering as well as taking photos to be part of a group exhibition organised by Urban Collective. Urban Collective is a focused group for those who are serious about getting their work exhibited with a focus on street photography or street portraiture. They managed to secure a spot at the annual Art and About for members to exhibit. The funky part about the exhibition was its location - Young Henrys in Newtown (a micro brewery with a really chilled and beautiful space).

I spent about a month or so walking the streets of Sydney including some of my favourite suburbs searching for inspiration whilst taking street shots. This was particularly important as any submission must be along the lines of the theme - Exchange. It was an interesting experience as there are many ways of interpreting and at times challenging what I saw as Exchange. I had a few shots that I liked taken during this period and up to a year ago. It was very exciting to finally decide which one felt like they fitted well with the theme. It was even more exciting to know which one would make the cut after being curated. The photo in this blog entry was the one that made it. There was another photo that I submitted that made it as part of the marketing materials.

Now I am looking forward to more opportunities to exhibit more. There are some ideas in the pipeline as pet projects and hopefully something that will lead to either more submissions for group exhibitions or maybe a solo exhibition in the future.
